Hi everybody!
I am a Rotary Youth Exchange student in Cuenca, Ecuador. On August 23, 2014, I said good bye to everything I have ever known to discover a new culture. That was one of the best decisions I could have made. And although, this is not easy, the juice is worth the squeeze. The struggle only brings me closer to my Saviour, which ultimately, is the most important thing. Two years ago, I went to the Dominican Republic, and one of the passages that came to mind was Luke 2:19: And Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. I always knew the verse growing up, but it wasn't until I went to the Dominican that I truly understood it. Another verse that was at the forefront of my head was Matthew 28:19-20:Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. I am hoping that sometime in this upcoming year I will be able to understand that verse like I understand Luke 2:19. And now, I learn to how to be Ecuadorian!
